The Prophet ﷺ spent his entire life serving his community, worrying about them and praying for them. Even in his final moments, when the Angel of Death asked the Prophet ﷺ permission to take him back to Allah ﷻ, the Prophet ﷺ responded by requesting an assurance that his community would be taken care of after he left. The Prophet ﷺ had no greater longing than to be with His beloved Lord, and Allah ﷻ himself desired that His Beloved ﷺ return to Him; yet, the Prophet ﷺ still did not forget his community. We must reciprocate the love for the Prophet ﷺ that he had for us, and make it a priority in our lives to strengthen our connection with him, as he will be the only person that will intercede on our behalf on the Day of Judgment. What a shame it would be if throughout our lives we neglected the Prophet ﷺ, and on the Day of Resurrection, he were to neglect us. As is said in the Qur’an, “Our Lord, grant us what You promised us through Your messengers and do not disgrace us on the Day of Resurrection. Indeed, You do not fail in Your promise. (3:194)” We will all meet the Prophet ﷺ on that day, and hence, we must dedicate our lives to preparing for that meeting.
