With Ramadan having just passed, and the summer season upon us, the natural tendency of most will be to take a break from one’s spiritual effort. The seeker, however, seizes even this opportunity, recognizing that the pursuit of Allah ﷻ and His pleasure is not seasonal or restricted to certain months of the year, and that continuing to seek Allah ﷻ and His pleasure at a time when others have taken rest might allow us to earn the special attention of Allah ﷻ. Although Ramadan is behind us, and although the forthcoming summer months are considered a time of recreation and enjoyment, we should continue to strive in our efforts in deen, primarily by remaining consistent with offering our congregational prayers in the masjid, and by continuing to interact with the Quran on a daily basis.
