Preparation leads to success. The person who prepares in advance for an opportunity is the one who gains the most when the opportunity presents itself. However, the elite are those who prepare in advance for the possibility of an opportunity. For example, Abu Bakr prepared so well for the Hijrah that he bought two camels in advance, one for himself and one for the Prophet ﷺ — before he even knew that the Prophet ﷺ would ask to accompany him. We must also prepare ourselves to take advantage of any opportunities that may arise, even if we cannot see or imagine how they will transpire. Allah ﷻ is watching our preparation, and we must be willing to sacrifice our wealth and time in preparing for the possibility of any opportunity to do good; ultimately, Allah ﷻ will reward us, whether the opportunity comes to fruition or not.
