On the night before Ramadan, the Prophet ﷺ addressed the Companions regarding the blessings of the upcoming month, in order to foster a sense of excitement in preparation for these special days, which are limited in number. Unfortunately, many approach the month of Ramadan with dread due to the long fasts and sleepless nights. However, the believer should be excited. The special mercy of Allah ﷻ descends throughout this month, and everything in the universe benefits. The universe itself prepares for this month by aligning itself meticulously, in order that the month begin. As believers, we should approach this month with energy and enthusiasm for the countless opportunities that lie within.
